Built on consent, control and trust.
Synthetic media has a trust problem. These are the commitments Aksivo is built around, for the people who license their likeness and the brands that use it.
- Consent firstNobody’s likeness is used without their agreement.
- Fixed termsLicences end, and nothing is granted forever.
- Fully traceableEvery video can be traced back to its licence.
Our commitments
Each of these is something we’re building into the product and into our agreements.
Consent and control
Nobody’s likeness is used without their agreement, and that agreement can be limited, reviewed and withdrawn.
- Informed consent first
- People are told, in plain language, how their face and voice can be used before they agree to anything.
- Granular rules
- Talent block industries, brands, content types and territories. Sensitive categories can require their approval every time.
- Checked before it reaches anyone
- Every request is checked against the person’s rules. Anything outside them is declined, and the person’s likeness is never used.
- A real off switch
- Talent can withdraw their likeness from future campaigns on notice. Licences have fixed terms, and nothing is granted forever.
Fair terms
The people lending their faces should understand their agreement and share in the value they create.
- Plain-language contracts
- Clear terms, written to be understood. Independent legal review is offered to talent.
- No perpetual grants
- Licences have fixed terms. Renewing one needs the person’s fresh consent.
- Shared revenue
- Talent receive a share of every licence, plus an onboarding fee that’s never deducted from later earnings. The details are on the For talent page.
- Provision for the unexpected
- Agreements include provisions for what happens if someone is unable to act for themselves.
- Honest about earnings
- We don’t promise income. We tell people what’s realistic for their market before they sign.
Data and technology
Face and voice data is sensitive. We treat it that way.
- Explicit consent for sensitive data
- We treat face and voice data as sensitive personal data, and ask for explicit consent before collecting it.
- No training on talent
- Talent data is never used to train general-purpose models.
- Partners held to the same rules
- We require our technology partners to follow the same rules on consent and data.
Transparency and care
People should be able to see how their likeness is used, and audiences should be able to tell what they’re watching.
- Traceable content
- Everything we deliver carries content credentials and watermarking, so it can be traced back to its licence and identified as AI-generated.
- Full visibility
- Every use of a likeness is logged and visible to the person it belongs to, in their dashboard.
- Adults only
- We verify age before anyone joins.
- Extra care with sensitive subjects
- Content involving religion, ethnicity or politics gets additional review.
The life of a licence
From the first agreement to the last deletion, every likeness follows the same path.
How it works for talent → How it works for brands →- ConsentThe person signs a plain-language agreement and sets their rules.
- LicenceEach use is checked against their rules, licensed and logged.
- DeliveryContent ships with a watermark and content credentials.
- ExpiryThe licence ends on its date. No right continues beyond it.
- DeletionModels and data are deleted or retired.
Holding ourselves to account.
We’re at the start, and we’ll get things wrong if we don’t listen. We plan to set up an advisory board that includes talent representatives, an ethicist and a legal expert, and we’ll update these commitments as we learn.
If you think we’re falling short of anything on this page, we want to hear it.
